The mind is not all powerful against the physical reality of our world. We must accept that there are limitations as to which imagined thoughts and wishes can really be manifest in life. Despite its limitations, the mind, our will, is more powerful than we let ourselves accept in many instances. Yes, you may be unwell. You may have woken up today with a bad cold and sore muscles, with a hurting ankle. This may prevent you from immediately pursuing that lofty goal you set yourself mere hours ago. Your brain feels slower than usual, your body does not want to cooperate fully. Why should this matter? Your mind, if given proper space to breathe is near limitless in its ability, and while there may be some physical limits out there, rest assured knowing they are further away than you may think, and there is no downside to (with consideration of safety!) pushing what you think may be the limit.
You are tired and cannot do sports? Fine, sit and read, spend more time focussing on what you can do. Perhaps there is space yet for a few push-ups, perhaps not, it matters not. What matters is to remain in charge of yourself.
The only defeat is to accept that something outside our control (like sickness) should get the power to dictate more of our day than we want it to. Power is taken, so do not give it away mindlessly.
