I’ve been doing a lot of programming recently. I am not a programmer, but this has, of late, been a source of great enjoyment to me.
Writing remains my love, though. I’ll never not want to write.
Today, I got to spend eight and a half hours hours on a zoom call, writing. Well, sort of product-managing an essay. How fun, to sit with a jurist, and really, I mean, intensely, consider the structure and meaning of each sentence in a presentation. To condense dense legalese into a twenty-minute script is no mean feat, but as an activity done collaboratively, it is somehow the most fun way to spend a day.
Thinking about the law, and the associated weight of words, and getting to craft well-rounded sentences.
Each time we wrote a particularly satisfying sentence, there was a real sense of happiness, through the thought that someone will listen to this, and hopefully they will enjoy it.
Anyway…
I’ve been working on some programs, both fun explorations and sort of tutorial projects, and ones I want to take far more seriously. There’s so much fun and great software out there, but I think I might be able to add to the pile in a useful way.
